A Word From Pamela:

It's hard to believe that it's 2016! By now, everyone has put their holiday décor away, and while gift-giving is not at the top of people's minds, Crafting For a Cure's work is not over. We are continuing to give the gifts of smiles to children all over the world all year round.

2015 was quite amazing. We delivered to over 90 hospitals through our Committed to Crafting Program and gave to 30 hospitals through our Creating Breathing Space Program in the Teen Mental Health Wards. We established two new Canadian university student club programs and held 2 Kilometers for Kids events. We created and shipped over 50,000 craft kits around the world.

We couldn't have done any of this without the generous support of our sponsors, who help us reach and grow our potential. Our recent launch in Israel this past December was made possible by Air Canada, who funded our shipment to Israeli hospitals, supplying over $40,000 worth of product. Through their gift, Crafting For a Cure gave to hospitalized children from Israel, Palestine, Jordan, Syria and Saudi Arabia. Air Canada's kindness extends beyond this trip, to the countless shipping costs they have taken care of over the years. We are excited to join their corporate team in Quebec this May to bring crafts to local hospitals. As a result of their unwavering kindness, we have named Air Canada our sponsor of the month. We look forward to continuing this strong partnership.

Our bead supplier, Halcraft USA donated beads to over 30 hospitals, with individual shipments valued at over $5000. As a result of Halcraft's generosity, we are excited to announce our official launch of the Creating Breathing Space Program in New York City, this February! This will be our third program across the United States.

The Real Canadian Superstore, our biggest ongoing sponsor for Kilometers For Kids (K4K) will be partnering with us this March Break, in a craft kit packing and card making session for our volunteers, their staff and the community at large at their Dufferin and Steeles location. We would love to see you there!

From coffee to merchandise, Starbucks has been a committed partner for over years. They spread awareness about our charity in over 20 stores and their staff plays an active role in fundraising for our annual K4K run. Just last fall 2015, their staff created over 10 000 craft kits in one packing session. This year we are excited to have staff join us for hospital visits!

Ikea Etobicoke has been a committed supporter for over 10 years. Their store has made Crafting For a Cure their annual Soft Toy Drive Campaign. In 2015, they donated over 2000 stuffed animals that they will help deliver to some of our GTA hospitals! We can always count on their store to bring awareness and help us fundraise by crafting with customers in their store.

All of the activities we run, the kits we assemble and the gifts we give would not come to be without all of these supporters. These donations have allowed us to continue to do our important work. In 2016, we look forward to running a full program of events. Please check out our events page for upcoming activities, including an event taking place this Family Day weekend, and our 5th Annual Kilometers For Kids run taking place in May. Are you interested in hosting a run in your city? We would love to assist you in making this happen. Please contact us for more information.

I would like to personally thank everyone for believing in Crafting For a Cure. Regardless of circumstance, every child deserves to smile. To our sponsors, our donors and our volunteers, you are helping us make this happen every day.

    With love,

    Pamela Bielak
