Meet Melissa & Luc

They are the Co-Founders of 10,000 Hours - a platform that connects skilled professionals who are looking to make an impact through flexible and project-based volunteering, with non-profits looking to invest in their capabilities.
Melissa is very passionate about helping non-profits build their capacity and connect with future generations of philanthropists. She currently serves as the Chair of the Heart & Stroke Young Leaders. Melissa’s full-time role is in the sustainability tech space as the Director & Head of Partnerships at Flashood. Flashfood is a mobile marketplace that enables grocers to post their high quality, surplus food items like produce, meat, and dairy on the Flashfood app before it ends up as food waste. Shoppers seamlessly buy items at discounted prices through the app and pick them up in store.



Luc thinks that getting involved in volunteerism is sometimes harder than it could be and is excited for the potential of 10,000 Hours to unlock talented volunteer capacity that is currently on the sidelines looking for ways to get involved more easily. Luc's full-time role is Senior Director at RBC Ventures where he is the Head of Rocketman App; a leading public transit mobile app for TTC riders as well as other major transit agencies across Canada.
